Slowing Down

I have missed my last two weeks of my Mindful Monday, but have decided to offer myself compassion due to my current schedule. Along with that, I spent this last weekend at a training on Somatic Experiencing. My biggest take away from this weekend was the idea of slowing down. Our society demands so much of us, to the point where feeling exhausted and being busy can at times be a source of pride. Why is that?

If you take a moment to step into your body and actually listen to your body, do you feel rested enough? What would it be like to take time to rest? What can wait until tomorrow or even just a few more minutes?

I want to invite you to try to be a little more slow this week and maybe even allow yourself rest. And if that feels too unfamiliar or uncomfortable, what would it be like to allow yourself even 5 minutes, 4, 3, or 2 minutes to just find ease in your body?

As always, take what is helpful and leave the rest. I hope you have the week you need.
