What is Mindful Monday?
I started this space through my personal social media account. I saw a need. It was October 2020 and I realized that so many people were hurting. So many people were stressed out. So many people needed support. We were living through a trauma. Through a time of extremes. And we didn’t have all the tools we needed. I realized that I had been fortunate enough to receive an education on mental health. And I had been fortunate enough to sit through hard times with people and provide them tools to help them build on the resiliency they already had. I have been so grateful for these experiences to watch people grow and flourish. And in October 2020, I realized we all needed some of this support. So, I sent out an invitation for folks on my social media to see if they would be interested in having me send a monthly newsletter on mental health tips and reflections. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people took me up on this. And I have kept up on it since then. Now I am sitting here writing this in November of 2021. Where things may not feel as urgent as they did. But we could still use this support.
So, I wanted to extend this offer beyond my newsletter and start this blog. This blog is not a substitute for your own therapy, but just an opportunity to get some tools, ideas, or an invitation to dig deeper. An opportunity to reflect. The format is usually me sharing a resource and my thoughts with an invitation to use it as you see fit. Sometimes the resource is a coping skill, an article, or a guided meditation.
There are so many people and so many ideas in this world. No one idea will resonate with you fully, but I invite you to be curious. To see what works. So, I invite you to read through these. Weekly, monthly, or just when the topic feels right. It is your journey - but I am happy to be here with you! Thank you for taking the time to read through this.
